DIY Valentine Decor: Follow These Cosy And Cute Tips To Make Sure That Love Is In The Decor!

The first week of February is almost over and it means we are inching towards the most important day in February which is Valentine’s Day. Celebrated all over the world, this day is meant to show your love to the most important person in your life.

And it does not mean only romantic love; Valentine’s Day is no longer just a day for lovers but for everyone who wants to show their appreciation for a very important person in their life. And that person can be your parents, your siblings, close friends and even your roommate! So, don’t limit yourself when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day this year; plan it up well and surprise that most loved person in your life.

If you don’t have any specific plans, here are some 6 money-saving ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day.

  1. Flowers and Valentine’s Day go hand in hand; and of course, the most important one is the rose! Red roses are the most common flower to gift on this day and naturally, the price of them are sky-high on this particular day. But if you are not celebrating the day with your spouse or life partner, don’t go for red roses. Go for other roses that come with their own meaning; for example, yellow rose signifies friendship, pink gratitude, etc. A fresh flower even in a simple vase will brighten up any room.
  2. The second thing that screams Valentine’s Day is chocolate and candy. You will find all sorts of Valentine’s Day-themed candy in your favourite dessert shop. If you are planning to present them in a budget, buy the unboxed ones which are often cheaper. Then look through your old, discarded things and find some transparent bottles. Wash them well and if you have some acrylic enamel paints or glass paints at home, draw some designs on them. Then put the candies in and place them as a centre table decoration!
  3. Even changing the décor of your rooms can set the mood for a cosy Valentine’s Day. Do you have special Christmas décors that you had already stored up? Bring some of them out and redo the house. If you are not finding time to do the full house, you can do a little bit like the living room. Throw in those plaid pillows, place that beautiful ceramic bowl on the centre table and the room will look ready for a Valentine’s Day party for two.
  4. Not everyone can cook so it is no shame to buy some desserts from a store for your Valentine’s Day dinner. Just make them extra special by presenting them in unique ways! For example, rather than just serving rabdi and Gulab jamun (two favourite desserts of all time) in a bowl, serve them in shot glasses or even classy glasses.
  5. Don’t want to go the extra mile? Then what about using Valentine’s Day themed plates or even straws? They are not that costly and easily available in the market. Just present your everyday dinner in these themed plates and see how it turns special!
  6. The other thing that is associated with Valentine’s Day is balloons especially the heart-shaped ones. The ready-made ones can be a little pricey so go for the packeted ones you have to blow up. Make sure they are in pink colour, because nothing screams Valentine’s Day more than pink heart-shaped balloons! Just fill a room with such balloons and invite the person you are spending the day with. See how his or her eyes sparkle with joy seeing the floating heart-shaped balloons.

So, these are some ways you can celebrate Valentine’s Day on a budget. No matter what you choose, at the end of the day, it is your loving thought and gesture that matters the most. Don’t forget to tell your loved ones that you love them today!
