Home Is Where The Heart Is. Read How Your Home Helped You Cope With The Pandemic

This pandemic ravaging the whole world is unique in a way because it has affected not only those who have it but also those who don’t have it. Most people are social thus being cut off from our friends, family, and society, in general, is quite devastating even for those who are strong mentally. It is easy to say that to those who are living with their family; it is very hard for those who are living alone in a different city due to some reason or another. It is for them that the home has become the center of their world and their prison. But staying at home is the only solution; and here are the reasons why your home is the best help to fight this pandemic.

The first thing that you have to keep in mind during this pandemic situation is how to keep your home safe. Given the high contagious nature of the virus, you have to sanitize everything once it comes in contact with the outside world. So, every time you go out or bring anything inside, spray it with a disinfectant first and use hand sanitizer on your hands. Use a good antibacterial floor cleaner to clean your homes.

After taking care of this, you also need to keep the spiritual energy of your house to a good level. We have been forced to stay indoors for such a long period of time and it is bound to depress even the most cheerful one. So, how do we do that? One good way to do it is by using aromatherapy which is proven to uplift the mood of people. Some essential oils that do it are Rosemary, spearmint, peppermint, and sweet orange. You can burn these essential oils through an aromatherapy burner or use candles infused with these oils. Familiar smells that evoke our fondest memory also help the home to become a refuge during these turbulent times; so, burn your favorite incense every day or even just spray your most favorite perfume for an instant uplift of your moods.

For many of us, our home is not just our home anymore; it is also our workplace. But those not used to work from home can be a difficult thing as we tend to relax when we are at home! And that attitude often gets reflected in our work, which is not good when you have to work from home for a long period of time. So, how do you retain the familiarity and relaxing atmosphere of your home but still be highly productive at work? Simple, just designate a part of your home as your workplace and when you are there, leave behind your home. Dress up when you are there, even if it just wearing a shirt and a tie (or any professional attire you generally wear to your work). When work is done, leave that space and don’t do work-related things in other parts of your home. This way you can keep your home as the place where you go to rest during this pandemic.
